LOS ANGELES (September 12, 2025) – Just in time for Scoobtober, Warner Bros. Discovery and a handpicked lineup of acclaimed lofi producers are bringing a new vibe to a timeless classic. The Scooby-Doo LoFi album reimagines the iconic themes of Scooby-Doo through the hazy, chilled-out lens of lofi music and is available now!
The project taps into the rising global movement of lofi as a cultural touchstone — a genre that has become synonymous with study sessions, late-night drives, and cozy moments of reflection. By merging Scooby-Doo’s playful mystery-solving spirit with the warmth and nostalgia of lofi, the release invites fans both old and new to experience these legendary melodies in a fresh, modern way.
The collection features eight leading voices in the scene: Hogway, Dosi, SwuM, Kurt Stewart, Lomme, Ruth de las Plantas, Sadiva, and Pastels. Each artist was given the freedom to reinterpret classic Scooby-Doo cues with their signature style — resulting in a soundtrack that feels at once familiar and surprising.
“I grew up watching Scooby-Doo, so being part of this project felt like reconnecting with something nostalgic from my childhood,” says SwuM. “I tried to keep the playful energy of Scooby-Doo but translated it into a relaxed, dreamy lofi atmosphere. I used warm textures, jazzy chords, and a steady laid-back groove to capture that mood. If Scooby and the gang were listening to my song, I picture them cruising down a quiet road at night, calm before the chaos of their next mystery.”
For Pastels, the project carried a personal resonance: “I was excited to be part of this project because it let me reconnect with my childhood. Getting the chance to reimagine The Love Trap was especially fun—last Halloween I even dressed up as Daphne, so this feels like a full-circle moment.” Pastels crafted her track with “crunchy sounding drums, a synth bass, rhodes for a funky yet warm vibe, and even added sound effects from Scooby-Doo.” She envisions the Mystery Machine crew taking a rare day off, heading to the beach with the windows down, the sun shining, and her remix on repeat.
Kurt Stewart & Lomme leaned into Scooby’s spookier side:
“It was definitely an interesting task because we had to combine two very different moods: lofi, particularly in this era, is supposed to be relaxing, low energy, chill music; whereas Scooby-Doo is made to scare the listener or make them feel uneasy. So we tried to bring the energy up a bit but also tame the most dramatic, harsh aspects of the Scooby-Doo soundtrack which could alienate the typical lofi listener.
“We’re huge fans of old boom bap and classic 2010s lofi beats so we wanted to keep that feel in the rhythm section. It’s the heartbeat of these tracks, so by staying true to the sound we could get weird and funky with the Scooby interpolations. No matter how far out we went with the chords, melody, and harmony, we knew that as long as we kept the drums and bass tethered, we’d be in good shape. We also incorporated eerie synths and spooky sound effects — lofi beats often have a lot of ambience (vinyl crackle, white noise, foley sounds etc), and so do the Scooby-Doo tracks, so that helped bridge the styles together.
“We laughed a lot while making these tracks, so we hope that listeners do too. Halloween is scary but also very silly, and we tried to capture that here. Perhaps it’s similar to the feeling of being in a haunted house with your friends: you’re petrified but also can’t stop giggling through it.”
Ruth de las Plantas brought her own powerful perspective to the project:
“From the moment I learned that Hex Girl would be the track to reimagine in lofi, I was thrilled — it was part of my childhood, and I loved that it was performed by an all-female band. In this version, I wanted to preserve its iconic, powerful melody while creating an atmosphere that feels like stepping back into that Hex Girls concert: mysterious, dark, and colorful.
“To achieve this, I layered textures like rain, thunder, wolves, and wind, transforming the rock instruments into a deep sub-bass, a slow yet groovy beat, and ambient synths with both dark and shimmering tones. My goal was to immerse listeners in this vivid scene, evoking nostalgia while offering a fresh, playful, and atmospheric take on such an iconic track.”
Dosi & Hoogway reworked Scooby’s most recognizable theme with a mix of mystery and fun:
“Growing up as a French kid, we had the chance to watch Scooby-Doo cartoons on public TV. I can’t lie, Scooby-Doo definitely was one of the cartoons I enjoyed the most! Because of the characters, the plot of each episode, and of course… the emblematic music! I was super excited to be part of this thanks to my good friend Hoogway because it was such an honor to be able to rework the main music of one of the cartoons that marked my childhood.
“We really wanted to capture the mystery and spooky vibe of Scooby-Doo. I think that when we have Scooby-Doo in mind, we immediately think of the creatures, castles, the Mystery Machine… We also wanted to keep the funny vibe of the main melody, that Hoogway replayed on his guitar.”
“To keep the lofi vibe, we used main elements frequently found in the genre such as guitars, drum kits, and bass guitar — but we added the spooky feel with Theremin (playing the main melody as well), beltone keyboards like Celeste or Dulcitone, and layered FXs.”
The Scooby-Doo LoFi Soundtrack is more than just a remix project — it’s a celebration of cultural continuity. For over five decades, Scooby-Doo has remained a staple of childhoods worldwide, with its instantly recognizable characters, humor, and sense of adventure. At the same time, lofi has exploded as one of the defining genres of the streaming era, soundtracking the daily lives of millions.
By fusing these worlds, the Lofi Scooby-Doo soundtrack transforms into something greater: a cross-generational bridge, tapping into childhood nostalgia while also resonating with today’s lofi listeners. It’s music for late nights, lazy afternoons, and, of course, for the month-long celebration of all things Scooby-Doo during Scoobtober.
With contributions from some of the most respected names in lofi, the Scooby-Doo LoFi Soundtrack is set to be a highlight of Scoobtober. Fans can look forward to cozy, atmospheric reinterpretations that honor the original material while pushing it into exciting new territory.
The Scooby-Doo LoFi album is available now on all major streaming platforms.
